SPS Fire & Safety is a small to medium sized Fire Service company which is currently demonstrating steady growth. We are seeking an experienced Fire Service Technician to join our growing Fire Services division. Candidates with strong dry fire experience together with knowledge of wet systems, like hydrants, sprinklers, booster pumps are encouraged to apply. Also those who are Accredited Fire Safety Practitioner (APFS) or have a willingness to undertake the pathway to become Accredited Fire Safety Practitioners will be highly considered.
This role is ideal for a motivated professional who is passionate about fire safety compliance and delivering high-quality service across a diverse client portfolio.
About the Role
As a Fire Safety Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out inspections, audits, and compliance assessments of fire safety systems across various sites throughout Sydney Metropolitan area.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting routine inspections and compliance audits of fire safety systems
- Ensuring compliance with Australian Standards, BCA, and regulatory requirements
- Providing certification outcomes and rectification recommendations
- Maintaining strong relationships with clients and contractors
- Supporting operational improvements and safety initiatives
- On occasions installation of Fire Extinguishers
The role may require travel across Sydney, with occasional overnight stays when required.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and fire safety regulations
- Experience conducting fire safety inspections and compliance reporting
- Excellent attention to detail and strong technical interpretation skills
- Experience with fault finding with fire detection systems
- Some experience with wet systems and pump services
- White Card
- Good communication skills and a proactive approach to work
- Pass a NSW police check
You will also be professional, self-motivated, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.
